Bliss

It took me all day to settle on the best photo for Bliss.  When I walked into this bar to support an old friend, I knew this was it.

Over 20 years ago, this friend of mine, and a group of his buddies, formed a band.  They are still playing gigs and enjoying every minute of it.  The fact that these guys formed this amazing bond through music, and are able to continue sharing this joy with the public, 20 years later, is inspiring. These 40-somethings were having a blast, rockin’ the house, singing, dancing, playing. And there was no denying it was a fantastic performance. People of all ages were dancing, tapping their feet, and bobbing their heads.

Pure Bliss.

If you’re like me and had never heard of “Ska”, The Suspects are the favorite Ska band in Houston, right now. They’re not giving up their day jobs but they’re having a blissful time.

All this band talk reminds me of the song, Start a Band, which in turn reminds me of our own son.  He started his first band in our game room, and is still performing with the Cardboard Kids and living in Nashville.

Since I’m a firm believer that you are never too old to start something new, or resurrect an old talent, I’m gonna sign up for piano lessons, …or guitar,…, or flute,…or start a band.  Stay tuned.
