Photo 101 – Treasure

Assignment – Show us an image that represents a treasure to you.

I treasure the gift of music. The piano was my first instrument at 10 years old , followed very shortly by the flute. Although my piano skills suffer severely when I go long periods without practice, I can pick up the flute, at any time, and play proficiently. My mother always said that it would be a shame to waste a talent I had spent so many years developing. I was reminded today of the parable of the five talents. To whom much is given, much is expected. I was blessed with musical talent, therefore, it is my duty and joy to share that talent with others.

There is no age limit on developing talents. Some of my goals for this new life of mine are to increase musical skills, serve the less fortunate, photography, painting, quilting, and writing. Someone once told me, “the day you quit growing is the day you start dying”. I intend to keep growing; living every moment to it’s fullest, until the day I die.
